worse than not winning.

I just found out. Truly I did NOT know this before yesterday: Not winning an honorable mention in a contest is *WORSE* than not winning the contest itself.

What a surprise.

At least to me it was a surprise.

When I went to the Melissa Frances website to see if they had finally named the HM's....they had. And I wasn't one of them. What did I expect? Well, I think what I expected was that I didn't win the contest because although they just adored my entry, they couldn't choose 4 winners and I was the next in line. Truly, I think I was subconsciously believing that all along. And then when the HM's were named, that little bubble was popped!

So unless I want to pretend that I was the next HM in line, we all have to agree (even me) that they just weren't as excited about my entry as I was.

Imagine that.

Oh, well. On to the next.

Today's verse is brought to you courtesy of my sweet Darby:
Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.
Colossians 3:2

Funny thing is that I kept checking the site because I was sure you would get HM. Your entries were so good. So, while they were not excited I have shown your entries to just about everyone that has walked into my office. Even Bette, the famous one from Donna D's website. :)

you can get high from the MFran rub ons
did you know that?
they used too many rub ons before judging
I know what you mean about the HM thing
guess who didn't get HM for the PK thing?
yeah
(Although - in retrospect - I see why for me)
BUT FOR YOU?
The thing is - you were not next in line because you don't belong in the same line as the HM folks. Not saying they were bad. Just saying that I can tell they were looking for something different... Because if they were looking for anything like your work - then we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. You would have won. Period. (do you need a . after saying Period? ) kellicrowe
***the views expressed in this rant are not the views of the blogger...as I am sure she would never say you can get high from MFran anything***

I love the verse, too. It's something I've been thinking about a lot lately. Sorry to hear about the HM list. Carry on..
